| In a pre-war Riverside Drive cooperative, GPIDC was tasked with updating a dated four bedroom apartment. The bathrooms were in their original condition, the kitchen was small and dark without space for casual dining, and the bedrooms did not have adequate storage space. The apartment plan was reconfigured to create a breakfast room off the kitchen with large glass doors that both bring light into the kitchen and separate the kitchen from the formal dining room. The entire apartment was stripped, the electrical wiring updated, new cabinets and hardware applied, and the floors refinished. After a smart reconsideration of space and the installation of beautiful finishes, this typical pre-war apartment became a sophisticated family home. |
